VIEWTOPIA Optical is a boutique optical shop — independently owned and operated by Abe Zami, a New York State licensed optician with over 35 years of Optical Experience. This is not a franchise. There is no rotating staff. Every consultation, every measurement, and every fitting is done by the same person.
Viewtopia does not sell glasses online. That is not an oversight. Prescription eyewear is a medical device, and the measurements that make it work — optical center placement, pupillary distance, vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt — require you to be physically present. Abe has been doing exactly that for 35 years.
Walk-in visits are welcome. No appointment is needed.

In-Person Fitting Is a Professional Position, Not a Policy.
Every measurement that determines whether prescription glasses actually correct your vision requires you to be in the room. Monocular pupillary distance, vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt, frame wrap angle — these are the values that place the lens’s optical center in the right position in front of your specific eye, in your specific frame, on your specific face. None of them can be accurately captured by a ruler held up to a mirror.
