Everyday wear

Transitions GEN S

The flagship Transitions lens — and the most versatile everyday choice for patients seeking seamless light adaptation. GEN S lenses are clear indoors and darken quickly outdoors in response to UV exposure, providing comfortable vision in virtually any light condition.

They block 100% of UVA and UVB rays and filter a significant amount of harmful blue light — an all-in-one solution for patients who want protection, comfort and convenience without carrying a separate pair of sunglasses.

  • Fully clear indoors
  • 100% UVA / UVB
  • Filters blue light
  • Fast fade-back

Note: GEN S lenses do not activate behind a car windshield, as most windshields block the UV light that triggers the darkening response. If you drive often, look at XTRActive below.

Extra darkness · Activates in the car

Transitions XTRActive

Designed for patients who want more — more darkness outdoors, more protection behind the wheel, and a subtle shield even indoors. XTRActive lenses go darker than GEN S in bright conditions and are the only standard Transitions lens that activates behind a car windshield.

Indoors they carry a very slight hint of tint — barely perceptible, but a gentle buffer against harsh artificial lighting. They also hold their darkness in high temperatures, unlike some photochromic lenses that lighten in the heat.

  • Darkens behind the windshield
  • Extra dark outdoors
  • Holds up in heat
  • Slight indoor tint

The most advanced

Transitions XTRActive Polarized

The most advanced Transitions lens available — combining the windshield activation and extra darkness of XTRActive with the glare-eliminating power of polarization.

Standard Transitions lenses reduce light. A polarized lens goes further, filtering out the horizontal reflected glare that bounces off wet roads, water and reflective surfaces. The result is exceptional clarity and comfort in the most demanding outdoor and driving conditions.

  • Variable polarization
  • Darkens behind the windshield
  • Cuts reflected glare

Best for Patients who drive frequently, spend time near water or in high-glare environments, and want the most comprehensive lens protection available in a single pair.

Purpose-built for driving

Transitions Drivewear

Transitions Drivewear is purpose-built for one thing: driving. It is the only lens that combines Transitions photochromic technology with NuPolar polarization — and unlike standard Transitions lenses it is always tinted, never fully clear, because driving always involves some level of light management.

What makes Drivewear unique is its three-stage color response, each stage optimized for a specific driving condition:

Transitions Drivewear lenses shown in low daylight, behind the windshield, and in bright sun
  1. Winding road through forest in low daylight

    Stage 01

    Low Daylight Conditions

    Olive Green

The lens allows high transmission of light to maximize the total information reaching the eye's visual receptors, giving maximum visual acuity at lower light levels. The high-contrast polarizer removes glare that would otherwise destroy vision in low light.

  2. View through polarized driving lenses on the road

    Stage 02

    Behind the Windshield

    Copper

Behind the windshield of a car the lenses darken to copper. In this stage they reduce light intensity and block blinding glare for optimum visual acuity, while keeping traffic signal colors distinct.

  3. Sunglasses with Drivewear lenses in bright sunlight

    Stage 03

    Outside in the Sun

    Brown

In bright direct sunlight the lenses reach their maximum dark color, designed for maximum filtration of uncomfortable bright light. This makes them capable sunwear for any outdoor activity, not just driving.

Drivewear blocks 100% of UVA and UVB rays and is available in prescription across multiple lens materials including polycarbonate, Trivex and high index 1.67.

Best for Patients who spend significant time behind the wheel and want a dedicated driving lens that actively responds to every lighting condition on the road.

Note: Drivewear lenses are designed for daylight and daytime driving conditions and should not be worn at night.
