The correct intermediate zone width and near-point placement for someone sitting 24 inches from a monitor is different from someone sitting 20 inches away. Occupational lens designs require sufficient vertical depth to include both the intermediate and near zones — typically at least 28 to 30mm. Frames with very shallow lenses can’t fit an occupational design without cutting into one of the zones. The frame is assessed before any order is placed.
