New at Viewtopia Optical
Japanese-crafted optical frames and sunglasses from one of the world’s most respected eyewear specialists — now on the board at 810 Kings Highway, and fitted to you in person by Abe Zami.
The Brand
DITA was founded in 1995 by John Juniper and Jeff Solorio, and for more than thirty years it has done one thing: make eyewear. It is not a fashion house putting its name on a licensed frame. DITA designs its own collections and builds them with long-standing manufacturing partners in Japan.
That distinction matters when you hold one. DITA frames are worked by master craftsmen, and a single frame can take months to complete — titanium shaped and finished by hand, acetate polished to depth, hinges and temple details engineered to close with the same precision on the thousandth wear as the first.
The result is eyewear with a recognisable signature: architectural lines, layered metalwork, and a weight in the hand that tells you how it was made.
Fall 2026
English country houses, a helicopter on the lawn, roses in the walled garden. DITA’s latest campaign sets its frames against old-world settings — and every style shown can be tried on in person at our Kings Highway store.

Japanese Craftsmanship
01
Lightweight, corrosion-resistant and strong at thin gauges, titanium lets DITA build the layered bridges and fine rims its frames are known for without adding weight on your nose.
02
DITA’s acetates are cut and polished so colour sits inside the material rather than on its surface — which is why a tortoise or crystal front catches light the way it does.
03
Hinges, nose-pad arms and temple tips are engineered parts, not afterthoughts. Open and close a DITA frame and the difference is mechanical, not just visual.
The Collections
DITA organises its eyewear into named series, each with its own design language. These are a few of the best known — ask Abe which styles are currently in store, or call ahead if you are looking for a particular model.
Fitted at Viewtopia
A DITA frame is built to tight tolerances. To feel the way it was designed to, it has to be adjusted to your face and measured in person — which is how every pair leaves our store.
Abe Zami handles every DITA fitting himself. Once you choose a frame, it is pre-adjusted to sit the way the finished pair will, and your measurements are taken from that position before any lens is ordered.
DITA optical frames can be fitted with your prescription in single vision, progressive or computer lenses from Shamir, Hoya, Essilor and Zeiss. Many DITA sunglasses can also be made as prescription sunglasses; Abe will confirm whether a specific frame suits your prescription before you commit.
