Wrap-style sunglass frames introduce a horizontal tilt to the lens plane. In a standard frame, that tilt is minimal. In a sport-wrap or shield-style sunglass, it’s significant. A prescription lens placed in a curved frame without compensation for the wrap angle produces peripheral distortion. It’s subtle at first. By the end of a beach day, it’s noticeable.
